This is the most important domestic tourism fair in Spain
The tourist potential of Floración traveled to Valladolid with the Ciezan representation headed by the Councilor for Tourism Antonio Moya
After attending the celebration of a Workshop space at the Hotel Felipe IV in Valladolid last Thursday, organized by the wholesale agency WALA, where destinations and tourist packages from our Region were presented, on Friday the Ciezan representation headed by the councilor for tourism Antonio Moya was at the new edition of the International Fair of Interior Tourism presenting a new edition of Floración de Cieza.
This is a fair that welcomes all forms of inland tourism: from urban destinations to natural spaces, museums, historical routes, literary and musical events, accommodation, transport, wine tourism, gastronomy, family leisure, business tourism, etc. An amalgam of proposals to discover.
One of the main themes of this fair is sustainability, as 2017 was declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism. In domestic tourism, we find numerous examples of commitment by administrations and companies to ensure that travellers find destinations and services that meet sustainability criteria.
Communities such as Galicia, Extremadura, Andalusia, Cantabria, Murcia, Asturias, the Valencian Community, Aragon, the Canary Islands, La Rioja, Navarre and Castile and Leon presented their resources at this pioneering fair for inland tourism, which held its first edition in 1997.
The Murcia Region stand had several counters and one of them was where the tourist offer of our town was found, specifically in the Active Nature section, showing its inland tourism offer, its landscape and natural charms, as well as its cultural and leisure attractions (museums, hiking routes, craft market, Almadenes, active tourism companies, rural accommodation, etc.).
Cieza, present for the first time at this event
The Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Moya, accompanied by the councillor's technician, attended the fair, in which Cieza was present for the first time.
This year, taking advantage of the event, a workshop was held in a central hotel in the city for travel agencies in the area, where Cieza had its space and both the councillor for Tourism and the municipal technician held meetings with representatives of the city in order to promote the city, especially the flowering.
An agreement was also reached with the company Wala (wholesaler of incoming trips in the Region of Murcia) so that Cieza and its tourist resources are included in the strategic plan for promotion and marketing of said company.
On the other hand, on the morning of the 23rd, numerous meetings and contacts were held with other tour operators at 'Intur Negocios', which will have a favourable impact on our municipality in the next campaign, in the influx of visitors and tourists to the city of Cieza.
Flowering, the center of attention
In these days of promotion, flowering has played a leading role, since in the video of the Region of Murcia prepared for the occasion there were numerous allusions to the flowering of Cieza, and they provoked very positive reactions in the attending public, who were able to see an unparalleled spectacle for the senses, where fruit trees, especially peach trees, bathe the Ciezan orchard landscape in colour.
INTUR has the participation of around a thousand participating entities that promote and market destinations, accommodation, adventure activities, solutions for companies, wine tourism…
"In short, this is another effort by the Cieza City Council, through the Department of Tourism, to promote our city," municipal sources conclude.
