The “El Picarcho” Nature Hostel and Classroom has organized the “Ecotourism Christmas” activity for these holidays, a prelude to what will be a spring full of activities related to Flowering.

The “El Picarcho” Hostel and Nature Center has organized, in collaboration with the La Floración Cultural Association and Agromarketing, several hiking routes, which will take place on Saturdays and Sundays of Christmas (26th, 27th December, and 2nd and 3rd January), in which participants will be able to learn about the historical, heritage and environmental values of beautiful places in Cieza and Abarán with the help of a specialized guide.

“These two hiking routes will allow you to discover the Cave of the Enchanted and enjoy the environmental, historical and heritage values between Cieza and Abarán.”

The first is of medium difficulty and will cover 14 kilometres of the Ecotourism Route 39 that links the El Picarcho Hostel and Nature Classroom with the Cueva de los Encantados, a picturesque spot surrounded by curious medieval legends that visitors will be able to learn about from an expert in the field, the guide José Olivares. The transport of visitors from Cieza will be paid for by the organisation.

“The “El Picarcho” Hostel and Nature Center will be the nerve center of the activities of La Floración in Cieza starting in February.”

The second is a 12-kilometre circular route that runs along the Segura River along the remodelled Paseo Ribereño to continue along the famous Ruta de las Norias to return to Molino de Teodoro. On its itinerary, hikers will enjoy beautiful places populated by riverside forests, wandering through the ancient Andelma irrigation channel, the Argaz cave houses, the “El Menjú” area or the Iberian-Roman site of Bolvax.

Those interested in participating in the routes on any of the days scheduled for their realization must register through the email contacto@albergueelpicarcho.es or by calling 666 500 594. In addition, guests of the Hostel during those days will have a 50% discount on these two routes.

On the web www.albergueelpicarcho.es You can find more information about the routes, rates and facilities of the El Picarcho Hostel and Nature Classroom. Located in a strategic point for discovering important tourist, environmental and landscape resources in the southeast of Spain, it is an obligatory pilgrimage stop on the Camino de la Vera Cruz, which will celebrate its Jubilee Year in 2017.
