The La Vega Hospital has had the happy idea of dressing up its new delivery unit with large murals of images of corners of the Region of Murcia, one of whose rooms has been decorated with an 8 square metre photograph of the Flowering of Cieza.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

In these new rooms, mothers will have a much more pleasant waiting environment, taking into account that they must remain in them for several hours before and after giving birth.<\/span><\/p>\n

The four rooms of the new unit have been equipped with the latest technology and decorated with images of our Region such as a panoramic view of Murcia capital from the Cristo de Monteagudo, the Cabo de Palos lighthouse, the flowering of Cieza, and a general view of the Segura River with La Glorieta de Espa\u00f1a and the tower of the Cathedral.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are told that "the most important thing about this inauguration is the privacy and comfort offered to the pregnant woman (monitoring, dilation, expulsion and postpartum) in addition to being able to be accompanied at all times" says M\u00aa Jos\u00e9 Lorenzo, Director of Nursing at Hospital La Vega.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abThe monitoring centre allows the midwife and gynaecologist to see the progress of the future mother without having to be in the room all the time. This data is stored in the integrated clinical documentation system, a further step in the hospital's commitment to patient safety. Another important innovation is the birthing beds that allow the pregnant woman to attend the birth from the position she chooses\u00bb concludes M\u00aa Jos\u00e9 Lorenzo.<\/span><\/p>\n
